Butterfly House in Bannerghatta, Karnataka : Photo Blog

21 km from Bangalore is the popular destination Bannerghatta located in a scenic environ. It houses the lion and tiger safari’s in addition to snake and crocodile farms.

One of the new attractions here is the Butterfly park which is a combined effort from the Zoo authority,University of Agricultural Sciences and the ATREE. It is spread over an area of 7.5 acres with a conservatory, museum and an audio-visual room.

My kids loved this place and spent quite some time in there. This would be a perfect place to take children for a one day trip combining the safaris and the Zoo’s too.

Here are all the photographs from there:

The conservatory is a circular enclosure of about 10,000 sq ft with 20 species of butterfly set in a tropical, humid environment very well made.

Indoors there are museums exhibiting butterflies, their life cycle and other diorama’s, in addition to the audio-visual room for educational tours.
